About Me: Sally Nilsson
Welcome to a space dedicated to your emotional well-being.
I am an Integrative Therapist. This can also be described as Pluralistic. It means I work with different therapeutic techniques, depending on my client’s needs.
I began my career as a mental health professional in 2015 and studied hypnotherapy and counselling skills with the National Counselling Society. This led me to go into Private Practice.
In 2016 I began training as a Human Givens Practitioner. Human Givens is a highly practical type of humanistic therapy that works with emotions first, then thoughts. You will see elements of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), deep relaxing techniques, guided imagery and a focus on trauma and techniques for lowering high anxiety. I am trained in The Rewind Technique. Please see more info on Human Givens here.
The work I do is bespoke to my clients’ needs. I am interested in nervous system regulation, why we can become addicted, trauma and our internal family systems (Parts Therapy). If hypnotherapy is of interest, we can look at that, for phobias, anxiety and trauma. I will be guided by what you bring to sessions.
In 2021 I discovered my autism and ADHD and have learned so much over the past five years through training and self-education. I went niche in 2021 to focus on supporting neurodivergent adults. I have worked with hundreds of clients with neurodivergences such as ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, tics, Tourettes and OCD. All with mental health in mind.
In 2025 I made the decision to focus on supporting women who are, or think they are ADHD, autistic or both – AuDHD. There is much interest in the connections between neurodivergence and how that affects women during perimenopause, menopause and post menopause.
I keep up to date on the latest research and have a plethora of resources I am happy to share during our work together.
Personal Life
I am 61 and moved to Frome, Somerset, with my family in 2022. I’m married to a lovely Swedish chap and we have two grown-up sons aged 23 and 25 and two cats.
I have many interests that include writing, gardening and growing insect-loving flowers, plants, vegetables and herbs, with a particular interest in tomatoes and chillies. I love TV and films, theatre and music concerts, dancing, cooking, crafting and being out in nature.
I advocate for the neurodiverse Community and have a keen interest in climate change, the natural world, politics and social issues.
